The company provides higher education to its students through 90 locations across North America and the DeVry University Online network. Students can pursue careers in business, technology, science, management, and the arts. DeVry is home to the world’s largest online university.
DeVry Inc., which also owns Apollo College, Western Career College, and Ross University, has major campuses in cities such as Calgary, Arlington, Columbus, Kansas City, Orlando, Phoenix, Long Beach, and Houston, among others. The University offers associate’s and bachelor’s degree programs in a variety of subjects, with a three-semester class schedule. A bachelor’s degree can be earned in three years for students who attend classes year-round.
Computer information systems, business administration, communication, and engineering are among DeVry University’s most popular courses. They also offer a variety of certificate programs in a variety of IT fields, such as office management and health information. Public administration, project management, human resources management, and accounting and financial management are among the master’s degree programs offered.
The DeVry Corporation began as the DeForest Training School in Chicago in 1931. Lee DeForest, an American inventor who had over 180 patents in the first half of the twentieth century, was the inspiration for the first school. Herman A. DeVry, the founder of the DeVry learning institutions, was a close friend of DeForest.
In 1956, DeVry expanded into Canada, and since then, locations have been established across North America to serve a student population of over 65,000. Keller Graduate School was founded in 1987, and Deaconess College of Nursing was founded in 2005. Becker Professional Review, a DeVry Inc. subsidiary, was added the same year, providing the University with a number of CPA training assets.
According to the university’s official website, it takes an average of six months to find a field-related job after graduation, and DeVry graduates work for more than half of Fortune 100 companies. Former students, on the other hand, have filed numerous lawsuits alleging false advertising since 1995. Students were not prepared for jobs after graduating from the university, according to the lawsuits, and the educational quality at the university was poor. The Higher Learning Commission of the North Central Association of Colleges and Schools in the United States has granted the university accreditation.
