The Medical College Admission Test (MCAT®) is a test used to gain admission to medical schools in the United States. The MCAT® is taken by the majority of juniors and seniors who are about to graduate from a traditional four-year school. A well-prepared student will study for and take the MCAT® exam early so that if their score is low, they can retake the test. If you wait until your senior year of college to take the MCAT®, you’ll have to consider medical school applications and when they’ll be evaluated.
The MCAT® is most commonly taken in the months of May and June. This enables college courses to be completed, which may be beneficial in terms of providing knowledge for MCAT® sections. Furthermore, the MCAT® scores are available approximately one month after the exam is taken, and taking it early allows for early submission to highly competitive medical schools.

This firm will assist with the reporting of MCAT® scores as well as the submission of applications to medical schools of the applicant’s choice. The AAMC will accept applications only if they have an MCAT® score.
There is no limit to how many times a person can take the MCAT® in a year. The test evaluates a student’s physical science, verbal reasoning, writing samples, and biological science abilities. The MCAT® takes nearly five hours to complete, with different time limits for each section.
It is possible to take the MCAT® while traveling outside of the United States. Testing facilities can be found in many countries. If not, the visiting country’s US Embassy can be contacted to inquire about the possibility. The MCAT® is a college entrance exam in the United States. Other countries’ colleges may have similar but distinct testing requirements.
