What does a Marketing Account Manager do?

Marketing account managers are in charge of creating and implementing marketing strategies for specific accounts. They employ marketing in a variety of fields, including business, sports, entertainment, and politics. Marketing managers’ ultimate goal is to increase revenue through sales, support, and participation. They usually have a group of employees, each with a specific task to accomplish the end goal. Managers are in charge of supervising employees and keeping an eye on the big picture. The marketing account manager is usually in charge of problems and decisions.

The job responsibilities are specific to the field. A marketing account manager for a sports team, for example, will send out press releases, organize press conferences, handle promotional requests, and handle negative media issues such as questions about a team captain being arrested for drunk driving.
