After the pre-race checks are completed, paddock girls may have additional responsibilities. Each girl may stand just behind the starting lines and line up with a specific racer before the race begins. She’ll usually be holding a sign with the racer’s name, team, or country on it. This is usually done so that spectators can keep track of the various racers once the competition starts.
Paddock girls typically serve as promotional models for the sport in addition to performing job duties at motocross races. The girls are frequently asked to pose for photographs fans at motocross races. Official motocross memorabilia, such as posters, calendars, and sports magazines, may also use the girls as models.
The selection of women to act as paddock girls is usually approached in the same way that a modeling job is approached. Because they will be wearing tight or revealing costumes, hiring agencies prefer candidates with attractive faces and fit bodies. The job requires constant travel to various motocross race locations, and the working conditions can be unpleasant due to the hot weather and long periods of standing. Because they will usually pose for promotional material, many females use the job as a way to gain exposure as a model and earn fans. Modeling work for mainstream national men’s magazines is frequently available as a result of this job.
